Understanding The NDIS
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government-funded program that provides support and services to eligible people living with a permanent or significant disability. The NDIS is designed to help individuals achieve greater independence, improve their quality of life and work towards personal goals through tailored funding and supports.
The scheme focuses on providing participants with greater choice and control over the supports and services they receive, allowing individuals to access assistance that best suits their unique needs, lifestyle and aspirations.
NDIS funding may include supports related to daily living, community participation, therapies, transport, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Support Coordination and other services that assist participants in living more independently and confidently.
